I think all social media links should be made to be controlled by some kind of setting. +1 for Ed's comment. This seems like the kind of thing where a sysadmin should be able to pick-and-choose from a list of known social media platforms. I wonder whether there mightn't even be a way to allow for new platforms by having a field to input the appropriate URI for posting content (since any site that has a RESTful API should be compatible with that method of posting in a consistent way), point to the favicon, and provide the name of the network. That would be awesome! :) I agree with Owen, this should be a setting of some kind. *** Bug 10583 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** There is a setting now to control exactly which social networks will display. Pinterest and Instagram sill missing. Instagram doesn't have sharing tools as far as I can tell. I'm not sure how that would even work. Pinterest is so image-oriented that I'm not sure how useful it would be in cases where there weren't a cover image (In reply to Owen Leonard from comment #6) > Instagram doesn't have sharing tools as far as I can tell.
