This is a huge inconvenience to patrons. This should be addressed. These items will check out through SIP, but with Koha's SCO module. Created attachment 105867 [details]

I believe this may have been another manifestation of bug 26301.. can we varify whether this is still a problem on current master? It is still an issue for our clients atleast. Haven't found a workaround to it. We have libraries running into this issue more and more as holds are placed on more popular/newer items. I am watching patrons get frustrated, not know what they are doing wrong. The SCO isn't revealing enough about this, and frankly, it is ridiculous that they are being stopped and not even given an option to accept the reduced loan period. A few things need to be addressed: 1) The SCO is very generic about the problem - this leaves the patron feeling dumb. 2) The SCO needs to stop the patron in their tracks with a pop-up message or modal. 3) The SCO needs to either a) give the option to accept the reduced loan period just like any other SIP self check or b) give the admin the ability the options to loan without warning, loan and highlight the adjusted loan on the issues table, or continue with the current behavior and block the transaction with a clear explanation. |
