Description Kelly McElligott 2018-01-30 20:23:41 UTC
A library inquired about allowing article requests to work similarly to purchase suggestions. Instead of having patron search for the subscription or record that they would like the article from- instead they would like the patron to fill out a form (as they would in a purchase suggestion) with fields (from the system preference : ArticleRequestsMandatoryFields, ArticleRequestsMandatoryFieldsItemOnly, ArticleRequestsMandatoryFieldsRecordOnly

Currently when the Request Article link is clicked, it brings up the opac-request-article.pl with a biblio number.

This may have a dual purpose - it could potentially be used for ILL material form for a library also!

I like the idea, but maybe we'd need to add some more fields then for the source? Like differentiate between the 'source title' and the 'article/chapter title'.

Still something that would be really helpful for a lot of libraries.

Activating the "free form" for article requests should still be probably be optional.
