Description Jeremy Evans 2018-08-14 09:50:35 UTC
We have had a couple of instances when books were being renewed in the staff client where the renewal was failing but there was no error message. It turned out in both cases that the user accounts had expired.

Is it possible for an alert to show in the staff client when trying to renew an items for an expired borrower?
The alert shows if trying to check out items to an expired borrower but this does not appear from the renewals screen.

I have had a look in the system preferences but can't see anything obvious.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I think this thread is still relevant. When renewing from the taskbar or renew.pl page, Koha is currently renewing automatically without a word about the expired patron account.

It would be nice to get an alert message after the renewal, saying "Expired patron account" with a direct link to the account. So, it would be easier to solve this issue right away.
