The ability to alert staff that there is a hold pending on an item when it's scanned for In House Use (IHU)would be *extremely* useful. Currently staff are having to scan the item for IHU and then check-in the item to catch any potential holds. Double the work - that could be remedied by somehow notifying or flagging a hold upon the IHU scan. I concur. Anytime an item is in staff hands at Koha staff client, it should be checked if there is a hold on it and alert staff if there is. It should also be checked for things like Claimed Returned. This has been dealt with in Bug 27992. I am going to mark this as RESOLVED FIXED. I've been slow to realize exactly how this was implemented. With bug 27992, if there is a hold on an item that is checked out to a statistical patron the resulting alert box will say both "Local use recorded" and "Item on hold, please checkin." Could we not trigger the hold from the checkout? What we have now is an easily-missed prompt to take an additional action involving multiple clicks. I'm going to reopen and rename this bug. The alert indicating that an item is on hold for a patron is no longer working in 24.05. When the item is checked out to the statistical patron, the message that displays is simply that local use has been recorded for the item, with no other information given. |
