Description Kelly McElligott 2020-04-15 16:09:46 UTC
With the introduction of multiple guarantors to guarantees, bug 14570, now in 19.11, the relationship can not be edited from the guarantee from.

Previously, a relationship and the actual guarantor could be edited from the guarantee form. Now in 19.11, there is no way to edit or change the guarantor from the guarantee form. The option that exists in 19.11 is to remove the guarantor not to edit.

Just noticed this today after our upgrade when we needed to change a father that was incorrectly listed with a relationship of mother. We definitely need to be able to edit rather than remove and then redo the info.

We have recently needed to update how we do guarantors/guarantees so that we can have clarity on who is the primary guarantor. Because of a recently passed state law, our policy now requires that a patron under 18 have a form signed by a parent or guardian. We'd like to identify this borrower relationship as the primary guarantor. Since we cannot edit this relationship on the edit screen, there is no easy way to quickly switch the relationships on youth accounts that were already created. You have to remove the guarantor and then add them back on with the new relationship. This is very time-consuming.
