We would also find this very helpful, particularly when dealing with e-book records. These records tend to be imported in large batches, with no convenient way to add a barcode to each item. The barcode is not used for any other purpose for these items - they're never issued, and can be batch deleted using the itemnumber - so it hasn't been worth the time to add them one by one. The only time we need a barcode is when items need to be moved - which we're doing a lot at the moment. Adding the option to use itemnumber (as with batch deletion) would save a lot of time. |
