Description Martin Renvoize (ashimema) 2023-05-04 10:48:24 UTC
Right now you're only recognised in the about page for work carried out in the main git repository.. however, documentation submissions are valid contributions to the project as a whole too and I think we should start recognising those too.

We could either refine our release scripts to also look at the docs repository and update the history and authors pages respectively or we could try to catch new docs people by adding them to the documentation team retrospectively at each release?

I totally agree about recognizing documentation writers. Not sure how hard it would be to automate, happy with both options.

I'm the one who raised this with Martin... I was thinking of the people who contributed to updating screenshots during Hackfest.

Not sure how it would work either; leaving it to the experts!

I'm not sure how it would work either, keeping in mind that we are very late compared to the Koha cycle.

Most things being worked on in the manual right now are for 22.11. But I think the About page is created upon release? I doubt there was any manual submission to the 22.11 manual back in november.

Should we then just keep a list of names, regardless of version?

I noticed that for developers, it seems to be any developer who ever contributed, so we could parse the contributors list for the manual and get all the names regardless of version.

Here is the list https://gitlab.com/koha-community/koha-manual/-/graphs/master?ref_type=heads
