Description Michael Adamyk 2025-04-08 18:39:24 UTC
Search terms are helpfully marked with highlighting in results if the system preference StaffHighlightedWords is enabled. However, this seems to apply only to basic catalog searches, and doesn't work properly for advanced searches.

If this is the intended behavior, the description of the StaffHighlightedWords system preference should describe where highlighting will and will not appear.

To replicate:
1. Make sure the StaffHighlightedWords system preference is set to "Highlight"
2. Click "Search catalog" and do a search for one or more words not listed in the NotHighlightedWords system preference
3. Note that search results have highlighting around the search terms
4. Run an advanced search for the same word(s), using a variety of boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT)
5. Note that search results don't have any highlighting on the search terms
6. Click "Unhighlight" and then "Highlight" at the top of search results, and there is still no highlighting
