Description Andrew Fuerste-Henry 2025-06-30 12:40:33 UTC
Koha puts a shield / lock / lightning bolt next to a patron's name in the patron info sidebar in the circ menu when the patron is staff / protected / superlibrarian. Bug 40251 adds icons related to shelfcheck permissions.

Libraries may find it useful to apply icons like this to staff and/or patrons for other reasons. Koha could allow libraries to define combinations of icon and title (to be shown when the icon is moused-over). Perhaps these could be connected to patron attributes, but with the option to display as an icon? Currently we have a way to make the attribute title and value show as text within the patron info -- a non-text visual option could be helpful.

To be perfectly honest, I'm filing this bug because there are so many good Font Awesome icons and I want to be able to put little wizard and cowboy hat icons on patrons. The more I think about it, the more it seems actually maybe useful :)
