On further consideration, it seems to me that the current behavior is a bug, since the standard (and comments in the Zebra configuration files!) suggest that it should be possible to search on 033. Therefore I am changing the severity from "enhancement" to "normal." I would suggest adding a left-anchored evdate: (or just event:) operator to CCL searches and the drop down boxes on the advanced search page for the MARC21 033$a, and possibly an evgeo: operator for the MARC21 033$bcp. I have never seen the 033$bcp used, but since 033$p was just added to the MARC21 standard this year, I think that probably the geographical aspect of the 033 will be of increased importance in RDA. |
