Description Savitra Sirohi 2012-02-21 06:25:34 UTC
Google's transliteration tool can be turned on for basic search in OPAC's masthead. Attemt to add this tool to:

1. Cataloging pages especially addbooks.pl: this will allow users to catalog items in other languages efficiently
2. Advanced search fields in the OPAC

This bug has not been touched by the assignee (Ebin Joseph) in last 4+ years. The original reporter (Savitra Sirohi) too has moved on (he no longer works in library technology domain). Given that this is useful to Indian libraries, L2C2 Technologies will like to take over this bug and push out the patch.

No action since 2016, resetting to NEW

It looks like we won't be able to add this:

The Google Transliterate API has been deprecated by Google in 2011... (see bug 26070)
