Created attachment 28494 [details] label settings See attached. When you're setting up a barcode label you can't have free text. If you change it to Barcode/Biblio then you do see the text but way way below the barcode. Barcode labels should allow for text - in particular the library name or title.

Created attachment 28496 [details] label after changing it to barcode/biblio
It appears that 'barcode' only prints a barcode and the number below and nothing else which is set up in the list of fields, may it be text or a field from the database. So I am changing this to an enhancement request.
Is this still valid? The option barcode/biblio (now called Barcode precedes bibliographic data) seems to work fine. The thing with having the text show really low I think might be due to the label template's top text margin. With the default Avery label that comes with Koha, there is no problem.
Created attachment 149054 [details] Example label with barcode image, followed by barcode and custom text Example label with barcode image, followed by barcode and custom text This is done with the same settings as Nicole's for the label layout, but with the Avery 5160 label template.
I believe we can close as using the barcode/biblio option works well. Please reopen if you disagree.
I believe we still need the option to put text for pre-printing barcode ranges where the barcode doesn't exist in Koha yet. See bug 34157.
Thank you for reopening this! It's still needed! We print barcodes using an old Zebra printer (so a custom format) and we would love to print our library name on the barcode label! We're trying to get the library name (in quotes) to precede the barcode, and it never works--we just get the barcode and the barcode number on the label. I have to use a rubber stamp to then put our name on every. single. label.:) Because of the way the ancient Zebra printer prints, there's space above the barcode, but not below the barcode. I think one should be able to put some free text (usually the library name) either above or below the barcode/barcode number combination. We're on 22.11.06. Cheerio! --h2
