To test: - find a patron with overdue fines or created one - go to the fines tab in the patron account - check the description that displays on the 'account' and 'pay fines' tabs: Fine , TITLE OF BOOK : 30/03/2015 23:59 View item TITLE OF BOOK : The title appears doubled up. There is also an additional space after Fine.
I think the problem here is that some fees/fines include the title in the accountline description, whereas some fees/fines include the biblionumber in the description, whereas some fees/fines have nothing about the item in the description. It is probably best to have the title and barcode in the description (like the behaviour for Renewals) as this gives us the most information, and all other fees should be updated to do this.
Hi Aleisha, using the descriptions in the interface has always been a bit of a translation problem as the strings often included and still include information that is available only in English. I think a patch some time ago changed the behaviour on purpose, so that for the GUI we should now use the column for the due_date for displaying a correctly formatted due date and the itemnumber to pull the title from the record. - So I would say that we should change all fines/fees to still show nicely, without using the description from the db - if that makes sense? My report here might be from a time before the change, but can't dig out the patch right now :(
This is a very old issue by now - I am marking it resolved WONTFIX because I tihnk it was due to old data.
