Perhaps an overly-large ask, but would be a huge boon for troubleshooting circulation behavior. If issuingrules contained a column for issuingrule_id, that value could be included in the issues table, allowing easy identification of which issuing rule applied to a given checkout.
+1 There have been SO many times I’ve wondered what rule was used. Good idea.
I am not sure about including it in the issues table tbh. The behaviour can change whenever you add/change your rules or the item, when an item is transferred, a pick-up location changed etc. - So I am not sure it would be useful information.
Maybe include an 'i' icon or hover over the item to have a tip show this information?
I think looking up the rules on demand could work better (just would not include it in the db column, as it might change and keeping it current might turn hard). That said, not sure how long we will be using issuingrules with the changes to circulation anymore. It might complicate things a little.
Closing as we on longer have the issuingrules table
