Description Alexandre 2019-05-22 21:15:04 UTC
It would be useful to add a column to indicate the editor name for collection's titles authorities. It will save some time to the librarian when cataloguing because the only way to verify this is to go in the complete authority and check the area 643.

The column could identify the editor or organism making the publication which appears in the field 643, subfield $b in the authority record 130.

It could be useful to add this info for search results in bibliographics records and for search results in Authorities module. This improvement could be made as a system preference allowing us to choose which feilds we want to display (it will be more practical for more people then).

Thanks,

Alexandre

Hi Alexandre, I believe this is for UNIMARC?
Could you add an example record or field and which search you want to be changed? I am a little confused on where you want the info to appear.

Hi Katrin,
Alexandre no longer works for our company now.
The display concerns Marc21.
In a search result in the Authorities module (and also when cataloguing) if two authorities of the Uniform Title type have the same title, they cannot be easily distinguished without consulting field 643.
I attach 3 screenshots.
If we could have in the search result a configurable column like AdditionalFieldsInZ3950ResultSearch, this would be perfect for adding additional information.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information

Regards
Marjorie

Hi Marjorie, thx for clearing this up! I think having a configurable display would be nice, but if this is a general requirement maybe it should be shown by default? (and we could still have a configurable column...)

For the places to chance, are you thinking:
- authority search results staff
- authority search results OPAC
- authority picker in cataloguing ?

Hi Katrin,

Sorry to answer you that now.

For the places, I think the three places you offer are the only ones to be taken into account.
