As the cart is a temporary location, a user is limited to what this feature is capable of. If they close the browser and have items in the cart, they will go away. I would love to give the patrons the ability to send the cart to an email without having to log in. The advantage of the cart is to store items without logging in, but the cart has such a short shelf life (pun ! ) and would like to give more cart possibilities.
I remember poking at this once before, but cannot find the existing bug. Wherever it is, that bug raises the concern that emailing the cart without logging in opens the possibility of koha being used to send bot spam. That's a solvable problem, but a complication.
Hi Kelly, this has been made impossible to avoid using Koha to send spam to arbitrary email addresses. There is an older bug discussing this too - marking it duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 4274 ***
