Just to clarify. This doesn't need to be pushed, right? It is something packaging will apply when appropriate?

I think this needs to be pushed. If a developer tries to build a package from master now (say for testing Bugzilla patches), the package won't build correctly.

i agree with David, lets make it easier for everyone to build packages for all branches

Yes, please push (we do build our own packages).
