Description Alexander Wagner 2026-02-12 14:28:35 UTC
[Bug 37893](https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=37893) moved quite a few settings from `SIPconfig.xml` to the database so they are now exposed via the admin UI.

These changes are not yet reflected in the documentation for SIP2 (cf. https://koha-community.org/manual/25.11/en/html/apis_protocols.html#setting-up-sip2), so at the moment the best documentation of the many parameters seem to be the really helpful and well done (i) tooltips in the admin-UI.

As a quick fix the manual should probably at least note this config-change in v25.11 and point to the info buttons, so the newbe notes this change and doesn't try to fix the XML config.

It seems that also a note should be place for system upgrades. At least AFAIS a Koha upgrade would migrate the `SIPconfig.xml` to the new db tables. (I am unsure if it also cleans up the XML afterwards.)

It might be helfpul to keep the docs for Koha <25.11 around (at least for some time) somehow.

Hello Alexander, the Koha Manual is created by the Koha community for the Koha community. The more of us contribute to the Manual, the quicker new features like the new SIP2 module can be documented to the benefit of everyone.

You yourself can contribute: this page on the wiki explains how https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Documentation_-_Contributing You can directly contribute your insights into the new SIP2 module by editing the manual - see this other wiki page https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Editing_the_Koha_Manual Experienced members of the documentation team are here to help: please reach out on Mattermost > Documentation channel, join us at a monthly meeting or for a Documentation drop-in session (https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Documentation_Team_-_Drop-in_sessions).
