Cyrillic search in opac

Cannot decode string with wide characters at /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/perl/5.20/Encode.pm line 215.

sergeinik, can you please add more information?

- which is the exact version of Koha you are using?
- which is the search terms you see the problem with?
- where ware you searching, from which page/form?

Koha does support search in various scripts, one thing you might want to check is that you are using ICU indexing. There are hints on how to set it up on the wiki.

- after the upgrade from version 3.18 to 3.20.
- when entering Cyrillic in Opac search.
- Intranet search is working properly using the Cyrillic.

I have no idea yet, but some more questions:

- Are you using ICU or GRS1 indexing?
- Did you switch to DOM indexing after the upgrade?
- How does the search URL look in OPAC compared to staff?

I have no idea what kind of indexing program uses. I was version 3.18 and it worked, but after upgrading to version 3.20 inetrfeyse search administrator stopped to perceive Russian titles of books and an error that I sent you above. In the search for the user interface works normally. Also, the user interface violated Russian explanation, but this is not essential.
Comment 5 Katrin Fischer 2015-06-01 11:56:39 UTC
Do you mean the kyrillic doesn't show correctly in the templates either?

Basically this would be better on the mailing list - as this is more likely to be a configuration/setup issue than a bug in Koha. Could you please repeat your question there?
Comment 6 sergeinik 2015-06-23 07:05:28 UTC
This happens when I enter Cyrillic search in the admin interface library - there is such a mistake. The user interface library Cyrillic search works fine. Once again, it started when I updated from version 3.18 to version 3.20. I Debian 8.

This is certainly a duplicate of bug 14431. Please have a look and confirm.
