Description Christopher Brannon 2019-12-26 16:54:13 UTC
Currently there is no way to place simultaneous holds on multiple records in the same record.

It would be great if there were a batch feature that would allow you to place holds on multiple items, whether in the same record or not, with the option to specify identical or individual settings (notes, dates, etc) on the items in the batch. Basically, there needs to be something similar to batch item modification, where you can specify a list of barcodes, and the items will load, and you can specify global settings on the holds, or if you fill in something on a specific item, it will not take the global setting.

A new feature on the Opac would be a great help for library users who would love to place holds on different volumes within a record.

For example, when placing holds in a serial (or manga) record, you could select more than one item in the record. This way you could select Vol. X, Vol. Y and Vol. Z all at once, instead of placing each hold separately.

In addition to a batch feature, if the Holds per record column in the circulation rules has Unlimited or any value over 1 entered, it would be great if the radio buttons under the requestspecific table on request.pl could be changed to checkboxes and would allow the patron to select up to the number set in the circulation rules.

+1 on this. If all copies/volumes of a given title need to be pulled for something like new spine labels there is no easy way for library staff to hold all copies/volumes at once.

I think that this is already supposed to be available on the staff interface?

I see how to place multiple bib-level holds in one go, but I don't see a way to hold all the items individually. Can you point me to it?

Actually, I think that you just unlocked this problem in my mind. Looking at bug 14695 it looks like it's limited to only multiple bib-level holds? Bizarre.

It looks like Bug 15565 will fix this.

I'm keen to get Bug 15565 pushed, but I think Victor pointed out an issue with the hold count logic, so just waiting to hear from Aleisha.

I'll update the bug name there and mark this as a duplicate.
