Description Chris Cormack 2010-05-21 00:53:51 UTC

---- Reported by nengard@gmail.com 2008-09-26 07:37:35 ----

Can we see the total due at the top of the Fines page on the patron information screen so we don't have scroll down - this is a big deal with accounts that go back many years.

We charge overdue fines by the day, which means that someone with 15
items out late, has 15 lines of say 20c each. When we pay them we get 15
more lines of 'Payment - thanks'. It doesn't take long before the
balance is off the bottom of the screen, and it becomes difficult to see
which amounts are still outstanding.

I would like Koha to display only unpaid charges in the payment screen. When a charge is paid, move the paid amounts to a separate screen (fine log), and keep only unpaid amounts in the screen you see when paying.

I would also prefer the paid fines display to have only one line per charge, with a new column to show paid/written off, rather than a whole new line for 'Payment - thanks'

I too like this idea of 2 tabs

---- Additional Comments From jwagner@ptfs.com 2009-09-25 14:43:17 ----

I like the idea of separating the tabs as well. Not sure if having "unpaid" and "paid" is best, or maybe "unpaid" and "all" where "all" would include both paid and unpaid. I can think of times when a site might want to be able to see all fines at once regardless of payment status.

Jane, that works too - just so that there is some easy way to see the fines that are outstanding.

Another option is to just add some filters at the top to allow you to filter on what you want to see. We could allow for filtering on:

paid/unpaid
date/date range
type of transaction/fine/credit

Oooh, I like the idea of being able to filter :-)

I still have libraries ask for this in training - when the patron has a long history, it's a lot to scroll through.

There are options to filter and sort the fines now - like described in (nengard@gmail.com 2009-09-25 15:10:31).
