Description Chris Cormack 2010-05-21 00:57:44 UTC

---- Reported by nicolas.morin@biblibre.com 2009-01-07 07:37:26 ----

On koha/opac-tags.pl I see 2 problems :

1/Tags are weighted AND ORDERED according to the number of time they occur: this conveys the same information twice. It seems to me tags should be alphabetically ordered, and weighted.

2/ in one's account, one sees everyone else's tags as a cloud, but one's own tags as a list. I think for the sake of consistency, one should alse see one's own tags as a cloud.

#1 is fixed.
#2 = not sure to understand what you mean ? Does it means that on opac-details you want both tags cloud (mine & everyone) ?
Because there's already 2 parts : the list of my tags (with editing options) and the list of everyone patches.
I think it could be easy & correct to add a filter to the tag cloud on the bottom of the page. Would it agree you ?

It would me agree myself surely but the other way around. :-)
Meaning : a filter? Yes. But then I'd rather have only my own tag cloud by default, and a link below saying "see everyone's cloud" or some such sentence.

Here's a suggestion: Incorporate the user's tags into the tag cloud and use color cues to show the different aspects. In this example bright green is for the user's approved tags, the muted green is for the user's unapproved tags, and the blue is for all other tags.

(Further reflection tells me these particular colors would be quite unfriendly to the visually impaired, so consider it merely proof-of-concept).
