Description Chris Cormack 2010-05-21 01:26:41 UTC

---- Reported by katrin.fischer@bsz-bw.de 2010-04-22 12:02:49 ----

Tested with 3.01.00.127 and 3.01.00.61

Sys pref item-level_itypes: ON
Use the item type of the **specific item** as the authoritative item type (for determining circulation and fines rules, etc).

942c is an item type that is marked not for loan in general
952y is an item type that is for normal loan (4 weeks)

In Staff the item is displayed as available.

In OPAC the item is displayed as not for loan and its not possible to place a hold on the item.

After changing 942 to another item type that is not marked as not for loan in configuration its displayed as available and holds can be placed.

The problem is that 942 should have no effect with item-level-itypes activated.

---- Additional Comments From jwagner@ptfs.com 2010-04-28 17:15:52 ----

As a followup, the reverse is also true. On a system at 3.01.00.061, the syspref item-level_itypes is on. For a title with multiple items, some of the item types are set to book (circulating), while others are set to an item type that's marked Not for Loan such as reference. In the OPAC and staff display, if the 942c is set to book, all of the items show as available, even the not-for-loan ones. If the 942c is set to the noncirculating item type, all of the items show as Not For Loan (including the books).

On the results list, the staff side shows all copies as available. In the OPAC, the results list gives a correct count (3 available, 1 in reference for the data I'm experimenting with). XSLT is turned on for the OPAC.

There seems to be a problem with how the system is determining and displaying availability.

The patch seems to fix my problem; I'll let kf check hers and then she can close it.
