Tested in 3.8.8 and 3.10.4 and 3.12 Beta - this error is in all of the above.
I'm guessing this is a duplicate of Bug 8686 which I've never been able to reproduce. I can perform a search in my test system using the exact same search query I observe in the status bar in that video and I get valid results with no problems with the toolbar. I need more information. Does the bug happen in all circumstances? Every author search, or just that particular author search? When the bug manifests are there JavaScript errors on the page? When you get a search results page which shows the problem, can you please view source, select all, and save that text in a text file to attach to the bug?
The video came from a 3.8.8 system. I then went on to my system which is 3.12 beta and clicked another author and had the same thing happen. Then I went on to the 3.10.4 system and did another search and clicked yet another author and had the same thing happen. That's 3 different versions with 3 different databases and 3 different authors clicked. The 3.12 and 3.10 test were on Mac and FF and the 3.8 test was on Windows and FF. This might have to do with authority search preferences. Or having an authority file. The url of the search is visible in the video and it look something like this: /cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?q=au:%22Kant,%20Immanuel,%22 If that helps at all.
Created attachment 17202 [details] source when the error is visible
I don't have a JS popup with an error, is there another way to know if there is an error?
This stops happening if you upgrade URI::Escape to 3.31. We should make it clear in the Perl Modules page that an upgrade is needed. Nicole
