---- Reported by nengard@gmail.com 2008-06-03 10:28:44 ----

When adding an authority to a bib record the authority doesn't update to show that it's linked to that bib.

Per Chat:
<nengard> authorities question - i have an authority record for stephen king - i applied it to a book by stephen king and saved the record - how do I get the authority record to show that it's used on 1 biblio?
<nengard> it still says 0 biblio
<gmcharlt> nengard: should be picked up by indexing
<nengard> hmmm - well i think my index has been rebuilt since i did this - but i'll do it on training and see what happens in 6 mnutes :)
<nengard> gmcharlt - per the authorities question - i assigned authorities to catalog records on the new training install - and it has rebuilt - but it still says 0 biblios
 <cfouts> i'll look...
<gmcharlt> nengard: sigh - ok, please file a bug
 <nengard> :(
<nengard> wait - rch - is authorities rebuilding on training?
 <rch> nengard: yes
 <nengard> bah - okay - filing bug
 <rch> nengard: checking error logs
 <nengard> k
<rch> nengard: looks like might be a config issue, hold on
 <nengard> oh goodie
 <rch> Search biblios ERROR 114 1 1+0 RPN @attrset Bib-1 @attr "1=Koha-Auth-Number" @attr 2=102 1
 <nengard> what does that mean?
<rch> nengard: which biblios did you add authorities to?
 <nengard> biblionumber=606 - stephen king
 <nengard> and
 <nengard> biblionumber=124
 <nengard> - science fiction
 <rch> so you added to a 700$a ?
 <rch> for king?
 <nengard> 700a for stephen king
<nengard> and 650 for science fiction
<nengard> and on my test it was a 100z for king
 <nengard> 100a
<rch> ok. yeah, no subf 9 on those records.
 <nengard> subfield 9 where?
<nengard> on the authority? or the bi record? and which field?
<nengard> the authorities didn't prompt me that i was missing a field and neither did the bib
<rch> nengard: when you save the bib, it should store the authority number in subf 9, without your involvement.
 <nengard> ah
 <nengard> so it's a bug
<rch> nengard: unless you modified the framework, yes.
 <nengard> okay - i didn't - so i'll report this
 <nengard> what priority?
<rch> nengard: that's a blocker :[

---- Additional Comments From rch@liblime.com 2008-06-03 11:51:56 ----

Some testing reveals that setting hidden value such that subf 9 is not displayed in the marc editor causes the auth link to be lost.

Help for hidden value needs to be updated also, since 'collapsed' doesn't seem to make sense anymore.

Patch submitted for this bug - subfield $9 (for headings fields) are now forced to always be present in the bib editor.
