This sort of enhancement has been requested by a number of libraries. One of the most common requests is to have a way to see in the search results what the format of the record is. For instance, if I do a search and get three results, all containing the same ISBN, I have to look at each record to determine if the record is the print, ebook, audio etc as that info is not readily displayed. So in this case, some way to see the leader and 008. While we can add additional search fields to the results display, it gets rather unwieldy quickly. Being able to choose what fields should show in the search results would be very helpful. Perhaps a system preference where you can list which fields are wanted/unwanted? We just added this additional information this semester |
