Description Donna 2022-04-13 23:34:48 UTC
In 20.05, when a rotating collection is transferred, the status of the items update to indicate the item is In Transit to the library the collection is being sent to. In 21.05. the status is no longer updating.

If an item is checked in, the correct message shows to transfer the item to the appropriate location, and updates when checked in at the correct location. However the functionality of having the status update when the collection is transferred is a key part of the process and needs to be restored.

Donna,
The item isn't in transit though. It has been requested for transit similar to a hold.

It was a huge problem for our library that it was just putting everything into transit.

I would love a status that was something like "Requested for transit" so it was clear if you were looking at the record though, like suggested on Bug 29863.

There seems to be different opinions on this.

I kinda agree with Lisette that having a status indicating that something needs to be 'pulled' for transfer, makes sense.

This has also been reported against 21.05 which is quite old now, so I think we cannot just change the behaviour again.

Maybe this should be configurable or an option you can check when moving the rotating collection.
