Description Sara Brown 2022-08-24 19:02:45 UTC
It would be useful to be able to batch renew and/or batch update details for multiple subscriptions for the same serials title. Libraries with subscriptions to the same title for multiple branches/locations currently have to repeat the renewal/editing/any steps to account for irregularities (bug 17656) many times over, which introduces room for error and can quickly get time-consuming.

Hi Sarah,

it's possible to renew multiple subscriptions at once:
* Serials
* Check expiration
* Search for the title
* Select all - renew selected subscriptions

There is also a batch edit feature:
* Serials
* Search subscriptions
* Check the ones you want to edit
* Click 'edit selected serials'

I have filed bug 31230 a while ago to add more fields to it.

The irregularities problem should hopefully be resolved by 17656.

Does this help or more: what is missing from the current functionality?

Hi Katrin,

Apologies; I should have been much more specific with the original bug! The library I spoke with that led to this bug specifically wants to be able to renew a subscription and have its prediction pattern repeated (covered in bug 17656) or, until that's possible, be able to batch-edit the renewed subscriptions' prediction pattern to select months that won't be published for all 10, 20 etc. subscriptions/locations at once. I'm not sure if that's implied in 31230, but I had not found that one before, so thank you for noting it in any case!

Hi Sarah, thx for explaining and sorry for the late reply. Do you think this could qualify as a duplicate for bug 17656 then? (or maybe be covered by 31230?)

I am making this as RESOLVED MOVED with links to bug 17656 and bug 31230
