There are a few forks out in the wild these days, it might be nice to list these in the timeline as part of our openness and to show what the original koha has inspired. I know of the liblime/ptfs fork for example, which I think many people are aware of. But I think 'OPALS' is also a fork from the dim and distant past too? Some of these forks are alive and well, others have been superseded or just become distant memories.. it's all interesting information and in reality just shows the strength of the core community koha to have survived the test of time even with competing forks in the wild.
Sounds interesting. I always figured OPALS was a different system but http://help.opalsinfo.net/about/opals-source-code/ sure makes it sound like a Koha fork. The demo OPAC looks like something from the '90s but the OPAC is the smallest part of Koha anyway. They probably leverage the existing admin side...
