Description Martin Renvoize (ashimema) 2019-06-12 13:56:33 UTC
We now have the option to apply credits to debts in the staff client, but the same functionality is not available to the library patrons on the OPAC, it should be.
Comment 1 Andrew Fuerste-Henry 2019-06-12 14:30:35 UTC
I suspect libraries would like the choice to not allow patrons to apply credit via the OPAC. We've got several libraries that are very particular about when and if a credit gets applied and would likely be uneasy about letting patrons do it themselves.

I was certainly thinking we'd put it behind a preference ;)

What I'd love to see eventually is a more granular breakdown of credit and debit 'types' and the ability to define what types of credit may be applied to what types of debit... In the UK for example, some universities give their students a 'fines credit' at the beginning of their course. This credit should only be available to use against fines but not for lost items or purchases of other kinds.
