---- Reported by nengard@gmail.com 2008-07-17 10:56:25 ----

Ideally, this report (pendingreserves.pl) would let the librarians pick a default search range using a system preference. But if not, can it be changed to 1 year or less so that librarians don't always have to alter the dates when visiting the report?

This is a request from a librarian using the system.

This was arbitrary on my part. Depending on the data the reserve list could go back far for unfulfilled reserves. The question is, when should an out of date reserve be ignored? Other ILS systems have a setting (sys_pref equivalent) so each library can have a custom setting.

I've sent a patch changing the default date range from two days ago to today. Several of my sites were confused by the report not including the current day's holds. I also removed the notes field from the report output because that can produce a very lengthy printout, depending on the contents of the 5xx fields.

Pushed patch to HEAD. Please test. This should probably remain open, as I agree with Darrell that we should add a system preference (or better yet, some sort of branch-level or operator-level preference) for the default date range.

This patch works and I'm all for a sys pref so I'll leave the bug open.

i'm really against a syspref for a so small feature. We already have too many sysprefs.

Yes, Paul is right on this. I was thinking everything should be a sys-pref that day! :)
