We have some cases recently where libraries have only cataloged 245$p (name of the part) and no $a. This is hard to detect, as $p shows like the title would. But if you check out the item, the list of checkouts will load forever. Records in our catalog are added by import from the union catalog - so having the 245$a mandatory doesn't help in this case. Could we have a fix showing "no title" or similar when $a is missing?
I've run into this, too, and just assumed it was intentional. It would be great to handle these more gracefully.
Hmm what version of Koha are you using? This should have been fixed by Bug 25293 I think.
Thx David, I will check that - it's indeed an older version.
