Bug 20076 introduced a new system preference 'EmailOverduesNoEmail' which is great. Koha will still generate a print notice when SMS is selected in overdue notice/status triggers and a patron does not have an smsalertnumber. It would be nice if there was an SMS equivalent system pref like 'SMSOverduesNoSMS'
Hi Lucas, should this then send an SMS to a specified number or would should it send an email to a specified address with the text messages?
(In reply to Katrin Fischer from comment #1) > Hi Lucas, should this then send an SMS to a specified number or would should > it send an email to a specified address with the text messages? Katrin, I think it would send an email to a specified address with the text messages. So perhaps the system pref would be better off named 'EmailOverduesNoSMS'?
Hi Lucas, that was exactly what I was thinking, but was not sure if I understood the intent correctly. Thx for clearing things up!
Hi, we have a library affected by this. Library staff want to receive the notification for email overdue notices that have failed to send but their SMS service is 'opt-in' so although the SMS option is ticked in their overdue triggers the majority of patrons do not have a mobile number in the smsalertnumber field. This is resulting in lots of notifications to libraries saying that SMS messages have failed and it is therefore difficult to pick out the email address related ones. It would be great to have the option to exclude SMS.
