Some libraries would like to see the total circulations/renewals on the OPAC details pages
From our last ILS, we were able to see how many times materials have circulated directly from the OPAC. It is a helpful tool in acquisitions and weeding. It may not even draw any attention from the borrowers, but we found it useful for staff when making decisions about whether to purchase the next title in a series or if something should be replaced. It is a convenience instead of needing to go into staff and pull up the bibliographic record, then click on edit items (some staff might not have permissions to edit items), or click on the items then have to add up each separate item. If something has circulated heavily, the checkout history can take a while to load because it is not just pulling circ stats, but the borrowers information and circulation specifics. Having it in the OPAC is a quick reference point for us. Bossier Parish Libraries.
This is 952$l/items.issues and 952$m/items.renewals. Currently one can see them in OPAC MARC view. We may add a column in settings for Normal view items table.
Thank you for pointing out this was in the MARC view. I did not realize it was there. Bossier Parish Libraries.
Those subfields may be hidden to OPAC btw
They are now also visible on the staff detail page in the holdings tab.
