Though the Galician language is available in Koha, there are hardly any texts actually translated. I work in several Koha that use Galician as main language, so it would come in handy to improve the Galician po files. I have focused now in the OPAC, as it's the public part, but the intention is to cover later on the Intranet. To test: 1 Enable Galician in OPAC 2 Check that it's mainly in English 3 Recreate templates in Galician 4 Check that OPAC now shows up in Galician
Created attachment 147484 [details] Updated po files for OPAC in Galician
Hi Adolfo, that's a great effort, but we cannot push this as a patch to the Koha codebase To explain: the po files for Koha and its various versions are maintained on translate.koha-community.org. From there they are updated in Koha with every release, including the monthly minor ones. So if we took your patch into Koha, it would get overwritten by the incomplete trnaslation stored there. So we need to make sure this gets into translate.koha-community and from there into Koha. I am adding our translation manager Bernardo in CC, but you might want to email him directly to ask for help merging the files. Also, if you register on translate.koha-community.org and let me know your username, I can make sure you have permissions to translate Galician.
Thanks, we weren't sure how to send the po files, so we opted for submitting a patch. I just registered at translate.koha-community.org with the username adolfort
(In reply to Adolfo Rodríguez Taboada from comment #3) > Thanks, we weren't sure how to send the po files, so we opted for submitting > a patch. > I just registered at translate.koha-community.org with the username adolfort I gave you permissions, so you cannot only suggest, but also submit translations and review suggestions from others.
