With the new waiting hold cancellation rule, it only puts items on the cancelled hold table if the patron cancels a waiting hold. It would be helpful if a patron could cancel the hold even while in transit. It would also be helpful if we had an option for staff cancelled holds to be put on that table. Staff that cancel a hold for a patron are not always able to jump up and grab that hold right away. This should be an option. Either a setting with the rule, or an option on the fly.

Yes, I would like to see waiting holds cancelled by staff added to the cancellation requests list instead of being immediately cancelled, which effectively loses the items because it isn't where Koha says it is. We've added JavaScript to prevent staff at a non-holding library from cancelling holds for pickup at a different library, but even then I've had to create a report to look for items with recently cancelled holds that are "available" at the holding library but are actually still sitting on the waiting library's hold shelf. If these are added to the cancelled hold request lists during the time between when the hold is cancelled and the item is next checked in, that status inaccuracy would be solved and we could remove the JavaScript to allow the staff at non-holding libraries to cancel holds for any pickup library.
