Sponsored by East Brunswick Public Library, East Brunswick, NJ, USA and Middletown Township Public Library, Middletown, NJ, USA.

Enhancement to allow batch changes on data elements in the item records. Select by various settings including item type, collection code, lost/damaged status, library. Change those or other settings on the matching records (you can select on one setting and modify a different one). For example, select all items with status of Damaged and change location to In Processing. You can also upload a file of barcodes and change desired settings.

Requires granular permission in another enhancement ( http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3500 ).

---- Additional Comments From jwagner@ptfs.com 2010-05-12 12:55:56 ----

The fix for this bug (in ptfs-harley) can be pulled from the public git repository at http://github.com/Koha-PTFS, branch http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3509

Note: parallel development by BibLibre is already in head; will need to reconcile.

What is the status of this enhancement? It seems superior to Biblibre similar functionality.
Comment 2 Jane Wagner 2010-06-10 12:11:48 UTC
We're still testing it -- the search functionality can time out if you are too general or have a large database. We're looking at options including a MySQL-level index.

Is this functionality pullable from any topic branch? I have someone who could test it and send feedback. It could help accelerating its integration. -- Thanks.

This still needs reconciling with the code in head.

I believe the Biblibre functionality personally is better from a Library point of view. Currently the Harley version I can't give to the librarians way to risky in a shared catalog for them to "accidently" change everything from FIC to NF by accident.
