We would like to see checkout buttons added to the items in a patron's holds listing. We have a library which regularly needs that option.

Could you explain a bit more about the use case?

The items in a holds listing can be item level or record level, so it would probably only work for items already on the pick-up shelf as they are assigned an item.

I see your point. I guess it would be only for items on the hold shelf. I just know that the library is ending up on that page and wants to be able to check out from there.

Would a checkout button make sense from the "Holds to pull" page? At least one of our libraries has remote patrons who request items to be sent to them by mail. That page is useful for collecting the items from the shelves to prepare them for shipment, but there's no 1-click path from there to checking them out. And even after one goes through the normal checkout process, one still has to cancel the hold. The question isn't posed, "Would you like to cancel the hold this patron had on this item?"

Or are the general expectations of these functions different than we imagine?
