Envisionware Stafflink doesn't display an error message when an item lacks an RFID tag. It simply stays blank--which is exactly the way it looks if it's not working. As circulation desk staff, I need a reliable way to know whether the blank display is a software malfunction or reflects a lack of RFID tag, so I can process material efficiently and respect patrons' time. It would be helpful to have a displayed error message in Stafflink, of course. Failing that, it would be helpful for items in Koha to have an RFID yes/no attribute, or display some kind of a "no RFID" message.
Hi Tara, I believe you have to report this to Envisionware Stafflink support to look into. Currently Koha doesn't have any code relating to RFID tags.
Hi Tara, I am not sure this can be solved in Koha. If you are scanning an item on an RFID pad - does it know there is an item if there is no RFID tag? I am not sure how Koha would identify the item you are trying to scan to show the RFID yes/no info if it was stored, as we won't be able to lookup the item. If you open a ticket with your support vendor (ByWater) we can look into options here. -Nick
