I was testing this setting for a library with multiple branches. The counter seems to be totally broken.

My first 5 generated barcodes were:
RPL10120001 - ok
RPL10122001 - ?
RPL10122201 - ?
RPL10122221 - ?
RPL10122223 - ?

After that it kept generating the last number RPL10122223.

I changed to another branch to try again, the generated number was:
FFL10122223

After saving an item with this number it also kept generating FFL10122223.

I think it should look like:

RPL10120001
RPL10120002
RPL10120003
RPL10120004
...
RPL10120011
RPL10120012

And ideally start anew for each branch:

RPL10120001
FFL10120001
RPL10120002
RPL10120003
FFL10120002
