Following bug 38082, @Janusz Kaczmarek recommended to file a new bug for the problem: Since Koha version 24.05.04: When opening an existing record that was saved with a specific framework (not the default one), the record always opens in the default framework. When opening the select field "Preferences", the original framework is still checked. In version 24.05.03 and before it was working normally.
+1
We are also seeing that duplicating a record as new will sometimes open in the saved/same framework and sometimes will open in default.
Are you seeing this in the advanced editor, the basic editor, or both?

Since the Settings menu still shows the original framework, are you seeing that it isn't that framework by fields that shouldn't be shown showing, or fields that should be shown not showing, or by expanded/collapsed subfields, or by subfield order, or something else I'm not thinking of?

We normally use a reduced framework with only 2 tabs. When we open existing records that were catalogued in the reduced framework, they open in the default framework (10 tabs), but the reduced framework is still showing as "checked" in the "Preferences" select field.
Good news, bad news. The good news is that this is already fixed for 24.05.05, by the patch from bug 37947. The bad news is that unless bug 38211 is fixed before 24.05.05 is released, every new record you create in your framework will open in Default (and admit it did, in the menu) the first time, and only the first time, that you edit it. And unlike the current 24.05.04 state, if you save it that first edit, you'll actually change the framework. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 37947 ***
